For a salesperson, a CRM is the pipeline: every deal, its stage, its value and the next step. Plenty of “free CRMs” hide that pipeline behind a paywall or stop at one user. So we looked only at what matters for selling: does the free plan include a usable pipeline, how many reps can use it, and what happens to the bill when you hire.
Limits were checked on each vendor’s pricing page on October 17, 2026.
Disclosure: DoubleScale is our product, and we list it first. Every other tool’s free-plan limits come from its own pricing page, and we say where another tool is the better fit.
Best free pipeline for a small team: HubSpot (2 users) or Zoho CRM (3 users).
Best for a solo seller: Zoho Bigin, free for one user and 500 records.
Best value as you hire, on WordPress: DoubleScale, where pipelines are in Pro at $99 a year per site with no per-seat pricing.

1. DoubleScale: best sales CRM without per-seat pricing

DoubleScale is a CRM plugin for WordPress priced per site, not per seat. The free plugin covers contacts with a timeline, proposals, invoices, booking pages for demos and a helpdesk. Pipelines are in Pro ($99 a year per site, any number of reps), with forecasts, lead scoring, contracts with e-signatures and sequences.
How sales teams use it: quotes, contracts and invoices sit next to the deal, so a rep goes from first call to signed contract without switching tools.
Watch out for: there is no free pipeline, no built-in dialer or call recording, and it needs WordPress.
Pros
- Flat price for any number of reps
- Quotes, contracts and invoices by the deal
Cons
- Pipeline not on the free plan
- No dialer or call recording
- Needs WordPress
Best for: Growing sales teams whose business runs on WordPress.
2. HubSpot: best free pipeline for two reps

HubSpot‘s free CRM includes a deal pipeline, email tracking and meeting links for up to two users, and lets you keep up to 1,000 contacts. Sequences and automation are paid. Starter lists at $20 per seat a month, with new-customer offers as low as $7 when we checked.
How sales teams use it: emails and meetings are logged to the contact automatically, deals move across a board by stage, and prospects pick a time through a meeting link instead of trading emails. Of all the free CRMs here, it is the one a new rep can use on day one with the least training.
Watch out for: the third rep means paying, and sequences, automation and forecasting sit in paid Sales Hub tiers. At list price, five reps on Starter is about $1,200 a year, and Professional is far more.
Pros
- Polished and easy
- Email tracking and meetings
Cons
- Two users free
- Sequences are paid
Best for: Two-person sales teams.
3. Zoho CRM: best free plan for three reps

Zoho CRM is free forever for up to three users, with leads, deals and a pipeline. Standard costs $14 per user a month billed yearly and adds workflow rules, sequences and forecasting.
How sales teams use it: capture leads from web forms, convert the qualified ones into deals, move them through your stages and set follow-up tasks so nothing goes cold. Three free seats are enough for a founder and two reps.
Watch out for: workflow rules, sequences and forecasting need Standard or above, and the interface is busier than HubSpot’s. The good news is that paid Zoho stays cheap: five reps on Standard is about $840 a year.
Pros
- Three users free
- Cheap paid tiers
Cons
- Busier interface
Best for: Small teams of up to three reps.
4. Zoho Bigin: best for a solo seller

Bigin is Zoho’s simple pipeline CRM. Free for one user and 500 records; Express is $7 per user a month billed yearly.
How sales teams use it: a single seller keeps every opportunity on a clean board with reminders and activity history, without the menus of a full CRM. When you hire, you can move up to Zoho CRM without re-entering data.
Watch out for: 500 records fills quickly if you import a lead list, and the second user means paying. Even then it is one of the cheapest paid options, at $7 per user a month billed yearly.
Pros
- Very simple
Cons
- One user on free
Best for: Solo sellers who just need a pipeline.
5. Salesforce Free Suite: best start on Salesforce

Salesforce lists a Free Suite for two users. When you grow, Starter Suite is $25 per user a month and Pro Suite $100.
How sales teams use it: start with leads, opportunities and reports on the platform most enterprise buyers and sales leaders already know, and grow into its huge app ecosystem later.
Watch out for: two users only, and costs and complexity climb quickly: five reps on Starter is about $1,500 a year, and Pro Suite is $100 per user a month. Most small teams need an admin or partner sooner than they expect.
Pros
- Enterprise ecosystem
Cons
- Two users only
- Expensive at scale
Best for: Teams that know they will need Salesforce.
6. Attio: best modern data model

Attio‘s free plan includes three seats, 50,000 records and 200 emails a month, with a flexible, spreadsheet-like data model. Plus is about $35 per seat a month billed yearly.
How sales teams use it: founder-led teams track deals and relationships with flexible views for each stage, and can add custom objects (partners, investors, accounts) as the sales process changes.
Watch out for: 200 emails a month is too few for outbound, and paid seats cost more than Zoho or Bigin, so a five-person team on Plus is around $2,100 a year.
Pros
- Flexible and modern
- Generous records
Cons
- Per-seat pricing
Best for: Founder-led sales teams.
7. Capsule: simplest for two

Capsule‘s free plan covers two users, 250 contacts and one sales pipeline. Clean and easy, but the contact cap fills quickly.
How sales teams use it: two people track relationships, notes and one pipeline with very little setup, which suits consultative sales where every client matters.
Watch out for: 250 contacts and a single pipeline. A team that runs outbound, or sells more than one product line, outgrows the free plan quickly.
Pros
- Very easy
Cons
- 250 contacts
Best for: Two-person, relationship-led sales.
8. Bitrix24: best per-team pricing

Bitrix24‘s free plan now covers one to two users with 5 GB of storage. Paid plans are per organisation: Basic is $49 a month billed yearly for five users, Standard $99 for 50.
How sales teams use it: deals, tasks, calendars and team chat live in one account, so a rep can discuss a deal and assign the follow-up without switching tools.
Watch out for: the free plan is small, and the busy interface takes time to learn. Pricing is per team rather than per seat, though, so Basic covers five users for $49 a month billed yearly.
Pros
- Per-team pricing
- CRM plus tasks and chat
Cons
- Small free plan
- Busy interface
Best for: Teams that want CRM, tasks and chat together.
What to check before you choose
- Seats: count the reps you will have in a year, not today.
- Pipeline: confirm the free plan includes deal stages you can customise.
- Email: email sync and tracking are often limited on free plans.
- Five-rep cost: compare the yearly cost for five people, not the free tier.
