Klaviyo and Omnisend are the two names most stores shortlist for ecommerce email and SMS. Both pull in store data, both ship pre-built flows for abandoned carts and post-purchase, and both bundle SMS. The difference is depth versus value: Klaviyo goes further on data and segmentation; Omnisend is cheaper and simpler to run.
Prices were checked on each vendor’s pricing page on October 20, 2026.
Editor’s note: Selling on WooCommerce? We also cover DoubleScale, which runs store automations inside WordPress for a flat price. We include it as a third option because many readers comparing Klaviyo and Omnisend run their business on WordPress. Every price for the two brands comes from their own pricing pages.
Pick Klaviyo if email and SMS are a major revenue channel and you want the deepest segmentation, predictive analytics and data.
Pick Omnisend if you want strong ecommerce automation for less money, with unlimited emails on Pro and 24/7 support.

What each costs
Klaviyo is free for 250 active profiles and 500 sends a month. The Email plan starts at $20 a month for 500 profiles and, according to 2026 pricing guides that match its estimator, is about $60 at 2,500 and $150 at 10,000. It bills on active profiles: everyone you can email.
Omnisend is free for 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Standard costs $16 a month at 500 contacts, $44 at 2,500 and $132 at 10,000; Pro, with unlimited emails and better SMS rates, costs $59 up to 2,500 contacts and $150 at 10,000 (monthly billing; new customers currently get 30% off the first three months).
| Contacts | Klaviyo Email | Omnisend Standard | Omnisend Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 | $20/mo | $16/mo | $59/mo |
| 2,500 | About $60/mo | $44/mo | $59/mo |
| 10,000 | About $150/mo | $132/mo | $150/mo |
Monthly billing. Klaviyo above 500 profiles from 2026 pricing guides.
Both rise with your list; Omnisend Pro includes unlimited emails.
Our take: Omnisend has the edge.
Segmentation and customer data
Both platforms sync orders, products and browsing from your store. What you can do with that data is where they differ.
Klaviyo
Klaviyo is built as a customer data platform. Segments can combine almost any property or behaviour: placed order at least twice in 90 days, viewed a category but not purchased, predicted lifetime value above a threshold, opened SMS but not email. Predictive analytics estimate each customer’s next order date, churn risk and lifetime value once you have enough order history, and benchmarks compare your results with similar stores.
Omnisend
Omnisend segments by shopping behaviour, campaign engagement, contact properties and channel subscriptions, with ready-made segments for common cases such as frequent buyers, discount seekers and lapsed customers. It covers what most stores need, with less depth for complex conditions and no comparable predictive layer.
Our take: Klaviyo has the edge.

Automations and flows
Both include pre-built flows for welcome series, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, abandoned product, post-purchase, cross-sell and win-back, and both can mix email and SMS in the same flow.
Klaviyo
Klaviyo flows can split on any profile or event data, and you can A/B test messages inside a flow. Its library of flow templates is large, and flows can trigger on custom events from apps such as reviews, loyalty or subscriptions.
Omnisend
Omnisend’s workflow builder is simpler to read and set up, with conditional splits, A/B testing and channel switching (email, SMS, push). Pre-built workflows come with ready-written messages, so a new store can launch recovery flows in an afternoon.
Our take: it depends on what you need: Klaviyo for complexity, Omnisend for speed.
Email editor and forms
Omnisend’s editor includes product picker blocks, discount codes and interactive content such as scratch cards and gift boxes in forms and popups. Klaviyo’s editor is clean, supports dynamic product blocks and personalisation, and its sign-up forms offer multi-step and targeting options. Both provide mobile previews and saved blocks.
Our take: Omnisend has the edge for store-ready blocks and gamified forms.
SMS, push and other channels
Omnisend includes SMS (per-message from about $0.007 in the US), web push notifications and WhatsApp in some regions, all inside the same automations. Klaviyo offers SMS and MMS, mobile push notifications for apps, and WhatsApp in supported regions; SMS is bought as credits on Email + SMS plans. Klaviyo is more often used by larger brands with their own mobile apps; Omnisend makes multichannel easier for smaller stores.
Our take: Omnisend has the edge for simplicity of SMS.
Reporting
Klaviyo’s reporting is deeper: attributed revenue per flow and campaign, cohort and RFM analysis, custom reports and benchmarks against peers. Omnisend reports revenue per campaign and workflow, sales by channel and contact growth, which is enough for most small stores.
Our take: Klaviyo has the edge.
Ease of use and support
Omnisend is quicker to learn and offers 24/7 email and live chat support on all plans, including a free migration service on paid plans. Klaviyo rewards the time you invest but has a steeper learning curve, and support beyond email is reserved for paid plans and larger accounts. A large ecosystem of Klaviyo agencies is available if you want help.
Our take: Omnisend has the edge.
